The library is open from 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm on Fridays. Students can borrow from a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, read subject journals and use the computers. We have plenty of comfy seating and desk space where students can read and work quietly. You can also search for books and reserve them using our library catalogue Search the Library’s Book Database.

Year 7 virtual book club meet every Wednesday from 12.45pm-
1.25pm.  This term we will be reading Look Both Ways by Jason
Reynolds, Malamander by Thomas Taylor and Time Travelling with a
Hamster by Ross Welford. Copies of the books have been sent out to
participating students. Anyone wishing to get involved must join the
Google classroom for updates.
Carnegie Book Club will begin in March 2021 once the shortlist for
the award has been announced. This is open to all students from year
8 upwards. Details for the meetings will be sent out to students at the
end of March.
Excelsior Award Club meet every Friday from 12.45pm to 1.20pm
and students from all year groups will have the chance to read the
best graphic novels and manga published in 2020. We will meet
virtually until further notice.

Author visits

In December we had a thrilling virtual visit from Chris Bradford. Year
7s in school and at home got to experience Chris’ excellent
storytelling and Samurai skills.
For World Book Day on March 4 th , students in years 7 and 8 will get to
attend a unique webinar with Robin Stevens to discuss her last book
in her Murder Most Unladylike series. We have been lucky to host an
event with Robin at Camp Hill Boys, so know that we’re in for a treat!
Two more very special author events are scheduled for April and May
but must remain top secret for the moment!
